“Dead Dog” Col

We nailed this one! Untouched, untracked and pristine. We hoped the large east face of Torreys would provide shelter from the days strong west winds… and it sure did… strong winds all morning until we got the the base of the face. We also had intermittent cloud coverage most of the day keeping the snow in the col cold and dry!

"Snoopy's Backside" Couloir

The northern mountains received a nice storm overnight however the winds were being their typical destructive self up high.  Several of the weather stations at higher elevations recorded NW winds in the 40's with gusts reaching 70-80mph.  So we needed an aspect which was protected from the winds.....Nailed It..  2+ feet of dry low density POW... the climb up the couloir was a challenge to say the least... but man was it worth it!!!  JAPOW in CO!!
